DemCP colloquium - MICHAEL DENNING (Yale University): "Everyone a Legislator: Antonio Gramsci and the Politics of Organizing"
|When:||We 14-10-2020 16:00 - 17:30|
The revival of Antonio Gramsci was one of the signal achievement of the New Left. But what is Gramsci’s legacy for our time? In this talk, Michael Denning reconsiders Gramsci’s conception of politics in light of the idiom of organizing in the new radicalisms (Bernie Sanders: “I will not only be commander-in-chief, I’m going to be organizer-in-chief”; Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez: “The way that I think of myself is as an organizer.”)
