€3 million investment for GRIP spin-off MimeCure

19 May 2026

The University of Groningen spin-off MimeCure, an initiative of GRIP researchers Dr. Luke van der Koog, Prof. Erik Frijlink, Prof. Anika Nagelkerke and Prof. Reinoud Gosens, has raised €3 million to accelerate the development of its therapy for chronic lung diseases. With Addington Investment Group as lead investor and Apsara Investments as co-investor, this marks an important next step towards clinical development.
For the MimeCure team, this is a tremendous milestone. Not only does this investment validate the technology, it also brings the spin-off closer to its goal: developing a therapy that can help restore damaged lung tissue.
This next phase will enable MimeCure to complete its preclinical studies and prepare for first-in-human trials.
