The University of Groningen organizes a multidisciplinary Summer Academy in agricultural regulation, biotechnology and other innovations in agriculture that aim to foster sustainable food security. During the Summer Academy, the participants will attend lectures taught by specialists in the field, present their own work, and play an active role in working sessions, practical cases and debates. The overall theme of the STINGS Summer Academy is Food, Science & a Sustainable Society, which will consist of three courses with a different focus and main subject:
1. Agricultural innovations & food security
Target group: policy makers, regulators, scientists (PhD, Postdoc and researchers), multiplicators and other stakeholders
Duration: 4 days (an initial, introduction course)
2. Biotechnology: regulation & policy approaches
Target group: policy makers and regulators
Duration: 2 days
3. Ethics of Biotechnology, social responsibility and world views
Target group: scientists and multiplicators
Duration: 3 days
This Summer Academy is organized by the Science, Technology and Innovation Network Groningen for Sustainability (STINGS).
