Webinar - Closing the gap between TVET and the labour market in the Netherlands
|When:||Tu 08-12-2020 15:00 - 17:00|
|Where:||Online via Zoom|
As a follow-up on the fruitful collaboration in summer schools and other activities which resulted in the book on ‘Youth, education and work in (post-)conflict areas’, the international Youth, education and work network presents the series of online sessions A Zoom in Youth, Education and Work: creating spaces for mutual learning.
In these series of online events, the third contribution is brought to us by Prof. Jacques Zeelen and the Groningen team in the Netherlands. Under the title ‘Closing the gap between TVET and the labour market in the Netherlands’, they will give a glimpse into their TTV project [Toekomstbestendig Technisch Vakmanschap – Futureproof Technical Craftmanship], which focuses on bridging youth, education and work. In this project, companies and TVET institutions collaborate in co-designing a new educational track to support sustainable forms of craftsmanship, thus closing the gap between education and labour market demands.
In this dialogue, Prof. Jacques Zeelen and the team will share some key elements of the followed approach towards craftmanship development. They will explore the interconnectedness of research and working in communities to stimulate innovation-based projects without forgetting the challenges to practicing this approach.
Prof. Jacques Zeelen & TTV Project Team: Dr. Josje van der Linden; Maaike Smulders, MSc; Inger Smid, MSc; Cobie Jeanne Poppinga, MSc.
