GSG has a small core staff, a Board of Governors and stakeholders in the university community. GSG hosts the CEASG (Centre for East Asian Studies Groningen) and maintains strong ties with other institutes and programmes and their staff, such as SEA ASEAN (Groningen Research Centre for Southeast Asia and ASEAN), the European NOHA Masters Programme, and the European Office of Osaka University. Organisationally GSG is positioned in the Faculty of Arts, and situated in one corridor of the Harmonie Building. Most of GSG staff works part-time in other institutes or faculties of the University of Groningen.
Dr. Arjan van den Assem is Director of Globalisation Studies Groningen (a.i.) and Director of Education at the Faculty of Spatial Sciences. His background is in international relations and political science with a focus on security and peace studies.
Prof. dr. Jacques Zeelen holds the chair of Lifelong Learning and Social Intervention in the Context of Globalisation. At the same time he holds the UNESCO Chair on Lifelong Learning, Youth and Work at Gulu University in Uganda. He coordinates the international network: Youth, Education, Work (YEW).
Dr. Pieter Boele van Hensbroek is Research Coordinator at GSG; he also has a part-time appointment in the Faculty of Philosophy.
Dr. Josje van der Linden is coordinator external cooperation at GSG and and researcher for several YEW projects
Ana C. Rodrigues-Vasse, MSc is researcher for several YEW projects and is coordinating and teaching for the minor development studies
Mr. Jarno Hoving is the office manager of GSG.
Ms Marloes Viet is Project Manager at Globalisation Studies Groningen
Ms Jennieke Oordt is Communications Officer at Globalisation Studies Groningen, Program Coordinator at NOHA and Office Manager at the Centre for East Asian Studies Groningen.
