Staff
GSG has a small core staff, a Board of Governors and stakeholders in the university community. GSG host the CEASG (Centre for East Asia Studies Groningen). Organisationally GSG is positioned under the Faculty of Arts, and situated in one corridor of the Harmonie Building together with the staff of the European NOHA Masters Programme, the CEASG, Euroculture and the European Office of Osaka University. All GSG staff works part-time in other institutes or faculties of the University of Groningen.

The GSG director is prof. dr. mr. Joost Herman, who is Professor in Globalisation Studies and Humanitarian Action. He is also director of the Humanitarian Action (NOHA) programme, President of the European NOHA Association and Director of the BA and MA programmes International Relations and International Organisations (IRIO). Prof. dr. Tjalling Halbertsma is professor in East Asian Studies with a special focus on Mongolia. He is head of the Centre for East Asia Studies Groningen (CEASG). See: ( www.rug.nl/ceasg ) and ( http://www.rug.nl/staff/t.h.f.halbertsma )

Prof. dr. Jacques Zeelen holds the chair of Lifelong Learning and Social Intervention in the Context of Globalisation. At the same time he holds the UNESCO Chair on Lifelong Learning, Youth and Work, at Gulu University in Uganda. http://www.rug.nl/staff/j.j.m.zeelen/ . He coordinates the international network : Youth, Education, Work (YEW).

Mr. Jarno Hoving is the office manager of GSG and of NOHA (http://www.rug.nl/staff/j.hoving).

Dr. Pieter Boele van Hensbroek is deputy Director of GSG and coordinator education and research; he also has a part-time appointment in the Faculty of Philosophy (http://www.rug.nl/staff/p.boele).
