Dr. Kelley Leung wins FSE Postdoc Prize 2023

On December 8, the fifth FSE Postdoc Prize was awarded to Dr. Kelley Leung of the Groningen Institute for Evolutionary Life Sciences (GELIFES). Leung received the prize for her impressive work and its high impact. Her research focuses on the polyploidy condition which is found in extra genome sets. Dean Joost Frenken handed over the Postdoc Prize statue to her. The prize also includes EUR 2,500 for an international scientific visit.

The two very strong competitors, Dr. Julien Es Sayed (ZIAM) and Dr. Pim de Haan (GRIP) finished on an honourable second place and were also praised for their impressive track records.

Leung was praised not only for her important scientific work but also for her commitment to equal opportunities for underrepresented groups in science.

FSE Postdoc Prize

The FSE Postdoc Prize is an incentive to a successful postdoctoral researcher at the Faculty. It recognizes outstanding young researchers who have demonstrated excellent research and who are showing an exceptional promise for the future.
