About us Faculty of Science and Engineering Our Research Engineering Systems and Design (ESD) Group For Students

Project Supervision

ESD members provide supervision to our students in both the bachelor’s and master’s IEM programs. A brief overview of the nature of this supervision is given below. For more details please go to the respective links.

Bachelor's Integration Project (Ba IP)

Overview

The Bachelor Integration Project (Ba IP) is a design project which finalizes the bachelor’s degree of Industrial Engineering & Management (IEM). Based on real life industrial, societal, or research context, the subject of the project is related to one of the tracks (PTL, PPT) of IEM. In Ba IP, each student works independently on his/her project, coached by supervisors. ESD members act primarily as second supervisors in the Ba IP -- when the project is defined by one of the ESD members, that member acts as the first supervisor.

For details about the organization of this program see the Bachelor’s Integration Project page.

Master's Design Project (MDP)

Overview

The Master’s Design Project (MDP) is a project-based design case in the field of Industrial Engineering and Management. The case is organized in an individual project format and executed at a company (project-based-learning). Each student is provided with at least three supervisors: one from the company and two from the university. ESD members act primarily as the first supervisor -- and occasionally as the second supervisor -- from the university.

For details about the organization of this program see the Master's Design Project page.
