Title:

Moving towards faster and lower power spintronics

Abstract:

In this talk I will give an overview of the group’s activities.

I will review some of our work on spin-charge interconversion in magnetic crystals with an inversion-asymmetric unit cell, particularly magnons-to-charge conversion, spin-orbit torques and new types of unidirectional magnetoresistance.

I will then describe some recent developments in our research where the break of symmetry is again crucial for combining two states of matter otherwise considered incompatible: magnetism and conventional superconductivity.

Finally, I will describe how we are now bringing our spintronic studies towards faster timescales by using time-resolved THz spectroscopy.
