ECS Centre for Neuromorphic Technologies (CeNT) launch event
Join the launch event of our new ECS Centre for Neuromorphic Technologies (CeNT)! Learn all about the ongoing research activities on neuromorphic computing at the University of Southampton, on the 2nd of March 2026.
The launch event will include two plenary talks from:
-
Prof Elisabetta Chicca - Professor of Bio-Inspired Circuits and Systems, Cognigron Centre, University of Groningen, Netherlands
-
Dr Bert Jan Offrein - Principal Research Scientist, Manager Neuromorphic Devices, IBM Research - Zurich, Switzerland
The launch will also showcase of the neuromorphic research taking place in the School of Electronics and Computer Science at the University of Southampton, including active research projects’ presentations by key academics, and posters presented by our early career researchers and students.
They will also host an editorial panel on the use of AI in publishing and flash presentations informing about the wider neuromorphic system in the UK (e.g., given by members of the UK Centres that were recently launched in this field: Neumat network, Neuroware Innovation Knowledge Centre and UK Multidisciplinary Centre for Neuromorphic Computing).
Light lunch, coffee and a networking reception with opportunities for discussion, networking, and future collaboration will be offered to all registered participants.
