Revolutionizing Colorectal Cancer Detection: ENTEG and Ameretat Collaborate on Privacy-Preserving AI Project
Innovative distributed learning model enables hospitals to improve diagnosis accuracy without sharing patient data, thanks to a TKI HTSM grant
12 December 2025
Up to 28% of polyps are missed during colonoscopies due to human error and image variability. To address this, Prof Ashish Cherukuri (ENTEG) and the startup Ameretat are developing a distributed AI model that improves colorectal cancer detection without sharing patient data. Funded by a TKI HTSM grant, the project uses distribution optimization algorithms to enable hospitals to collaborate and enhance diagnosis accuracy while maintaining privacy. This approach adapts to diverse imaging environments and supports real-time AI in endoscopy, potentially saving lives and reducing healthcare costs.
