Introducing our new scientific staff member Nima Monshizadeh

As of January 1, 2018 Nima Monshizadeh started as tenure track assistant professor in Systems and Control. Nima will set up his research in the Smart Manufacturing Systems group of Prof. dr. Claudio De Persis.

Nima Monshizadeh obtained his B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Tehran, and the M.Sc. degree in control engineering from K.N.

Toosi University of Technology, Tehran, Iran. He then joined the Systems, Control and Applied Analysis group of the Johann Bernoulli Institute for Mathematics and Computer Science of the University of Groningen where he obtained his PhD degree in December 2013. His dissertation was on model reduction and control of complex networks, and received the distinction of ``cum laude”. Afterwards, he was appointed as a Post-Doctoral Researcher at the Engineering and Technology Institute of the University of Groningen for a period of two years. He then moved to the University of Cambridge in UK, as a Research Associate, where he expanded his research on analysis and control of power networks.

Nima’s current research interests include optimization and control of complex networks, power networks, and model reduction.
