Entrepreneurs went back to school!
At the Smart Factory Lecture (9 Oct. 2017), seven professors from the University of Groningen and one from Twente University gave an overview of smart-factory related themes (robotics, new materials, big data, cyber-physical systems) to an audience of 150 participants from 95 companies. This was the first event of the Smart Factory Tour organized by the Region of Smart Factories Fieldlab (RosF) together with FME, Metaalunie and KvK, The lecture was followed by speed dates during which visitors could discuss with the professors.
Knowledge center for smart manufacturing
The University of Groningen, led by the Engineering and Technology institute (ENTEG), is rapidly developing into a valuable knowledge center for smart manufacturing. A program like RoSF successfully bridges the gap between the university and the regional industry.
