ENTEG supported University of the North student team that wins Self Driving Challenge 2026

On 16 June 2026, the University of the North student team, comprising students from the University of Groningen, Hanze University of Applied Sciences, and Noorderpoort, won the RDW Self Driving Challenge. Their self-driving car navigated a complex course with obstacles like traffic lights and pedestrian crossings, demonstrating both speed and precision.
Key role for ENTEG researchers
The victory was made possible in part by the intensive guidance of two ENTEG principal investigators, Saeed Ahmed and Bayu Jayawardhana, who played a pivotal role in the team’s technical and strategic preparation.
