The main focus of our group is on the physical and chemical properties of biological nanopores. In particular, we use the available tools in chemistry to engineer, modify and redesign these protein systems for applications in NanoBioTechnology, Molecular Sensing and Single-Molecule Biophysics.

We are using biological nanopores in:

A Nanoscale Test Tube
Looking at enzymes through the eye of a nanopore

Molecular Sensing
Sensors based on nanopores show promises

Nanopore Design and Engineering
Where Chemistry, Biology and Nanotechnology meet up

Nanopore Machines
How to build molecular machines and actuators at the nanoscale

Nanopore Theraputics
Evolving drugs for evolving targets

Protein Sequencing
New technology to identify proteins as they pass a nanopore
