U4 Network on Gender Studies

The universities of Groningen, Uppsala, Göttingen and Ghent (the U4) cooperate in organizing summer schools and staff collaborations. The bi-annual summer school aims to supply MA and PhD-students with in-depth discussion, scholarly exchange and networking within the context of contemporary gender studies in Europe.

The first U4 interdisciplinary summer school in 'Gender Studies' for PhD and advanced MA students was organised as an intensive 6-day programme and took place from 15 to 20 August 2016 at University of Göttingen, Germany.

On 6 and 7 April 2017, the U4 Gender team held a meeting at the University of Groningen in order to prepare the Summer School 'Gender Research' 2018 at Uppsala University. The title of the next Summer School is 'Methods, Methodologies and Responsibility: Complexities in Gender Research'.
