How to publish open access

09 November 2022

Open access means free, immediate and permanent access to academic publications. By publishing your research open access under an open licence, you enable readers to access, distribute and reuse the material freely.

The European Commission, most national research funding bodies and the Universiteiten van Nederland (UNL) consider open access publishing - or, more broadly, open science - a priority. The Dutch National Plan Open Science aims to make all publicly funded scientific publications 100% open access.

The University of Groningen Library’s open access team informs and advises you on everything related to open access and open science in a broader sense. Feel free to contact us. If you are looking for information on open data and research data management, please refer to the Digital Competence Centre.
