Title: Visual motion processing: from single cell recordings to clinical applications
Abstract:
In this talk I will show how our brain processes visual motion information. Most single neurons in primary visual cortical areas and higher order visual cortical areas respond directionally selective to visual motion and are speed sensitive. Reverse correlation techniques show the basic properties of these motion sensors. I will further discuss the link between these motion sensors and visual speed perception. Finally, I will show how we apply these fundamental findings in smart glasses for Parkinson patients.
