Completing your pre-LLM

The pre-LLM will give you access to the corresponding LLM. Below you will find how you can ensure this process will run smoothly.

General

With a finished pre-LLM, you are directly admissible to the corresponding LLM. To ensure your registration into your LLM, you’ll need to take the following steps:

  1. Apply for approval from the Board of Examiners for your list of courses

  2. Register for your LLM in Studielink

  3. Email the study advisers when you have done so

Approval list of courses

To apply for approval for your pre-LLM, submit your request via Progress. Navigate to:

  • Enrolling
  • Faculty of Law
  • Application degree certificate / approval courses
  • Tick the box for ‘Approval pre-master programme.’

For detailed guidance, refer to the manual.

Register for your LLM

Once you’ve completed all pre-LLM courses, take these steps:

  • Apply for the LLM via Studielink.
  • Email LLM rug.nl with the subject line: ‘Completing the pre-LLM’. This allows the Admissions Board to issue your Statement of Admission to the Final Examination and forward it to the Student Information & Administration. They will then update your application to a registration.

Important notes

  • You are responsible for correctly registering in Studielink for your LLM
  • Registration is possible after you’ve submitted your list of courses to the Board of Examiners
  • English-taught LLM programmes start 1 September. Ensure you’ve paid your tuition fee by this date.
  • If you haven’t been able to pass all courses in your pre-LLM programme, check this page for the different scenarios.
