Pricing policy study costs
At the UG, we have a pricing policy for study costs. This sets out the approximate amount you will need to spend on study materials, such as books and course readers.
Study costs 2026/27
For the academic year 2026/27, this amount has been set at € 957 per academic year. This amount is in line with the student finance provided by the government.
Additional costs? Apply for a refund
Sometimes the cost of course materials exceeds € 957. In that case, you can apply to the Faculty Board of Law for a refund. You will usually be reimbursed half of the additional amount. It is important, however, that you keep all receipts and proof of purchase and send them with your application.

Overview study costs of the previous academic year
Each year, the student assessor on the Faculty Board compiles an overview of the actual study costs for all programmes. This overview is available at the end of the academic year.
