Elies van Sliedregt to deliver the third Röling Lecture

Elies van Sliedregt, Professor of Criminal Law & Procedure at Tilburg University, will deliver the third Röling Lecture on Wednesday 9 December 2026.

The Röling Lecture takes place annually, partly to mark the anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (10 December 1948), and is named after Bernard Röling (1906–1985). 

The first Röling Lecture was delivered by Nico Schrijver, an expert in human rights and international law. Last year, it was the turn of Rick Lawson, Chair of the Netherlands Institute for Human Rights and Professor of European Human Rights Protection at Leiden University.
