Bert Marseille, Professor of Public Administration at our Faculty, has been appointed chairman of the supervisory committee for the WODC study 'Evaluation of Foundation for Consumer Disputes Committee (SGC)'.

Understanding the functioning of the SGC

The purpose of the WODC study is to provide insight into the functioning of the Consumer Disputes Committee Foundation. Among other things, the effectiveness of complaint handling and dispute resolution in the period 2017-2023 will be examined.

In addition, the study will focus on the position occupied by the SGC in a general sense in the whole of dispute resolution in the Netherlands. The emphasis here is on the relationship with other bodies established from professional and trade associations for extrajudicial dispute resolution in consumer cases.

'Evaluation of Foundation for Consumer Disputes Committee (SGC)' was launched last week and will run through March 2025. The study is being conducted by SEO Economic Research, headed by Prof. Christiaan Behrens and Nard Koeman, MA.

In addition to Marseille, the supervisory committee consists of Dr Ellen van Beukering (Leiden University), Jim van Mourik, LL.M., (Radboud University Nijmegen), Theo van Mullekom, MA, (WODC) and an employee of the Ministry of Justice and Security.
