The popular study platform LLM-Guide.com has recently released its Top 10 Lists for specialty LLM programmes for 2023, and Groningen has yet again been top ranked for Energy Law and Public International Law .

This is the seventh consecutive year in a row Groningen has been top ranked in the category of “Energy Law” for our Energy and Climate Law LLM , and the sixth consecutive year in a row in the category “Public International Law” for our Public International Law LLM .

Upon hearing about the 2023 ranking, Prof. Edwin Woerdman , Academic Head of the Energy and Climate Law programme, responded, “We are truly proud that the international community values the quality of our LLM in Energy and Climate Law. I think we have come this far because our highly specialized programme is taught by top researchers in the field, while we also facilitate guest lectures and excursions to industry for students. The true secret of our success, however, is our personal approach to the students, which you will only find in Groningen!"

Regarding the ranking for our Public International Law LLM, Assoc. Prof. André de Hoogh , Academic Coordinator of the programme, stated, “We're happy to be ranked again in the Top 10, thanks to the quality of the curricula of the programme and the dedication of our lecturers. As the saying goes, ‘Er gaat niets boven Groningen!’ (“Nothing tops Groningen!)”.

LLM-Guide.com is the premier database for Master of Laws (LLM) programmes worldwide, and their Top 10 lists focus on different factors such as offered concentrations, existing rankings, international balance, location, and research capacity.
