Alumni committee
The Faculty of Law’s alumni committee is responsible for implementing the alumni policy. The committee organizes an alumni activity at least twice a year. This year, for example, the committee coordinated the Faculty’s role in the alumni reunion during the UG-wide anniversary held in 2019.
The alumni committee comprises:
-
Hanny Bultena, Career & Alumni Officer (chair)
-
Kirsten Wolkotte, Coordinator International Office & Policy Officer Internationalization
-
Marieke Shin, Professional Education Coordinator
-
Tim van Zuijlen, Lecturer/PhD Candidate
-
Miriam Nethe, Assistant professor in Company Law and Labour Law

Hanny Bultena
My name is Hanny Bultena and I have been working at the Faculty of Law since 2022. I am working as Career & Alumni Officer and in this position chair of the alumni committee. I am also secretary of the Faculty Advisory Boards.
Students can turn to Career Service Law for advice on internships and employment. Students' careers do not start after but during their studies, which is why contacts with alumni are of great importance. Alumni are a source of inspiration for students!

Kirsten Wolkotte
My name is Kirsten Wolkotte and I have been working for the International Office of the Faculty since the year 2000, of which I am now the coordinator. The International Office deals with all international contacts of the Faculty and arranges student and staff exchanges. In addition, as Policy Officer for Internationalization and English Language Programs, I am concerned with the policies surrounding these two topics.

Marieke Shin
My name is Marieke Shin and I have been working as Postgraduate Education Coordinator since October 2022. In this role I take care of a beautiful postgraduate course offering. These courses are taken by both alumni of the UG and other lawyers working in the Northern Netherlands. I am also involved in various conferences and in-company assignments.

Tim van Zuijlen
My name is Tim van Zuijlen. I am a PhD candidate in private law and a lecturer in IT law. My dissertation is about manufacturers who deliberately shorten the lifespan of a product with the goal of selling more (aka: "planned obsolescence"). My teaching is mainly about artificial intelligence, legal knowledge systems, platforms and sustainability in consumer law.
