It is with great pleasure that we announce that Jan Riezebos will be the next academic leader of Teaching Academy Groningen beginning in April 2023. We are thrilled to start working with him and continue to grow our community together.

Jan Riezebos was a Board Member of the Teaching Academy Groningen since its start in 2017, and currently holds the position of professor in Educational Innovation at the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Groningen. He was awarded the national Comenius Leadership Fellow grant in 2022 for a university-wide project on inclusive education. Asked for his vision for the Teaching Academy Groningen, he states: “The Teaching Academy Groningen is the platform for academic staff to develop their teaching and to develop themselves to become more effective teachers and supervisors. The upcoming years I will help develop the Teaching Academy Groningen together with other parts of the University of Groningen that focus on educational innovation and research into a university center for teaching and learning, as we need to invest further in providing challenging academic education to students and society.”
