Do you write your PhD thesis at the University of Groningen with a focus on a societal challenge? Then our grant opportunities might be of interest for you.

We think it is important to encourage research that contributes to regional and global societal challenges (think of the Sustainable Development Goals as formulated by the UN, or the Global Risks of the World Economic forum). To spur young researchers of the University of Groningen to work on societal challenges, we offer grants up to € 2500,- to help you gain relevant (international) experience, broaden your horizon and give your research output that extra push on top of your regular research funds!
