Mayor to open Arts Festival on 14 September

The humanities are diverse, dynamic, innovative and relevant to society. That is what we aim to show on Saturday September 14th, during the first Arts Festival! A day on which the Faculty of Arts of the University of Groningen opens its doors to everybody who is interested in the humanities. A perfect opportunity to get acquainted with the world of the humanities ánd to experience their value for society first hand. The festival offers ample opportunity to enter in a conversation with our researchers. Who knows, the conversation might be the start of a new collaboration or a joint project!
The festival offers a mix of workshops, mini-lectures, scientific experiments, exclusive tours, etc. The Faculty of Arts will be transformed into a scholarly festival terrain with live music, performances, food trucks and an outside bar. The Arts Festival will take place in and around the Harmony Building on Oude Kijk in 't Jatstraat 26: home of the Faculty of Arts. The festival will be officially opened at 1 PM by Mayor Peter den Oudsten, together with Gerry Wakker, Dean of the Faculty of Arts. The programme lasts until 5 PM. Admission is free.
