Holland Scholarships presented to incoming and outgoing students

On Tuesday 27 August 2019, the University of Groningen (UG) officially awarded the Holland Scholarships. 31 incoming candidates from 14 different countries outside EU/EEA and 37 outgoing UG students were selected for this prestigious scholarship. On behalf of the Board of UG, the Rector of the University, Professor Elmer Sterken handed out the certificates to the candidates during a special ceremony in the Van Swinderen Huys.

Holland Scholarship

The Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science and the respective Higher Education institutions fund Holland Scholarship grants jointly. The purpose of the scholarship is to enable talented students from non EU/EER countries to get a Dutch Higher Education University degree. The outgoing students are selected by the UG faculties to strengthen the bonds with their preferred partners. They are real ambassadors for the UG abroad. This was the fifth year the Holland Scholarships were awarded. A new round will by organized for the Academic year 2020 – 2021.
