A lot of work is carried out on the entrance of the Zernike Campus. On both sides of the Zernikelaan the cycle paths are (almost) renewed.
Now the main road will be improve. This is done in two steps. The second step in particular has a lot of impact: long-term closure for car traffic between 15 July - 25 August.
1) Closure of ring road exit and Zonnelaan to Paddepoel
8 - 13 July

From Monday 8 July until Saturday 13 July the ring road exit towards Paddepoel will be closed for car traffic. Also the Zonnelaan towards Paddepoel will be renewed.
Diversion for car traffic
Traffic will be diverted via the next ring road exit (De Hoogte).
Cyclists will still be able to use the cycle paths.
2) Long-term closure of the Zernike Campus entrance and ring road exit
15 July - 25 August

From Monday 15 July until Sunday 25 August the entrance to the Zernike Campus will be closed to car traffic. The entrance and exit roads of the ring road in the direction of Zernike will also be closed for this whole period.
Diversion
- Car traffic will be diverted via the next ring road exit, via Reitdiep.
- Public transport will also be diverted via Reitdiep to bus station 'Zernike-Noord' (this will be the only available bus station).
- Cyclists will be able to use all cycle paths as usual.
The entrance and exit roads of the ring road in the direction of Paddepoel will be open to traffic.
Visitors to Yardenhuis, construction traffic and suppliers towards Nijenborgh 4
Traffic travelling to the Yarden crematory or Yardenhuis funeral home will have access via the ring road exit towards Zernike and Crematoriumlaan. Construction traffic for Feringa Building and Aletta Jacobshal and suppliers towards the RUG-hub at Nijenborgh 4 will also be able to use the ring road exit.

Road works
The road works are part of Upgrade Zernikelaan and will be carried out by Oosterhof Holman. The ring road exit will be widened to improve thoroughfare for traffic. The area under the ring road will be renovated and more clearly designed for bike and car traffic.
