Obesity is a growing problem in Western societies. Half of the population of the Netherlands is currently overweight, and about 1 in 7 people are seriously overweight, in other words obese.

How can the food sector help to fight obesity? Would a sugar tax help, for example? Laurens Sloot talks to Prof. Koert van Ittersum who, in his position as professor of Marketing and Consumer Well-being, has acquired a deep understanding of what works and what doesn't work when it comes to influencing consumers’ decision-making behaviour.
