Sustainable Society has set up an Impact Award! This award is...
- ... for PhD students at the University of Groningen to stimulate societal impact from scientific research;
- ... part of the Horizon 2020 project ACCOMPLISSH that is being coordinated by Sustainable Society at the University of Groningen (www.accomplissh.eu).
What to do?
To win this award, PhD’s are challenged to show in a 60-second video-pitch what his/her research is about and how society can profit from it. The Impact Award is all about creativity, innovation and of course impact. Show us in your video-pitch how your research stimulates societal impact. The video should be targeted at a non-specialist audience; make sure everyone can understand what your research is about.
Upload your video on YouTube and send us the link. Technical skills are not required, you can even use your mobile phone.
What’s there to win?
The prize is a money prize consisting of €1000,- which is meant for the PhD to invest in expanding both their academic and non-academic network related to the research topic.
Who decides the winner?
The video’s will be judged by our expert jury, consisting of:
- Nicol Keith, University of Glasgow
- Sharon Smit, Director of Sustainable Society and coordinator of ACCOMPLISSH
- and two other special judges (names will be announced later)
The final winner will be announced at the Opening of the Academic year 2016 September 5 2016.
