New Unifocus: Diederik Roest; language research into tongue movement; the oldest Dutch map

The new Unifocus, the video magazine of the University of Groningen, is online.
This week:
- Diederik Roest in the Young Academy. Roest is interested in the mathematical properties of string theory. He enjoys linking abstract theory to actual experiments.
- Tongue and lips determine pronunciation. Martijn Wieling has been awarded a Veni grant for his research into tongue movement as a basis of differences in pronunciation.

The University Library's treasures. The oldest map ever printed in the Netherlands, dating from 1514, lies in the University Library.
Each episode of the weekly online video magazine Unifocus includes three items related to the University of Groningen, in the fields of research and society, student life, teaching, policy and internationalization.
