Title: An Overview of Reference Architectures

Abstract:

Reference architectures refer to a special type of software architecture that captures the essence of the architectures of a collection of systems in a given domain. The purpose of a reference architecture is to mainly provide guidance for the development, standardization, and evolution of system architectures. In this talk, definitions given to reference architectures are firstly presented. Following, it is presented a model that describes the set of elements that could be present in reference architectures and a process that systematizes the reference architecture engineering. Various perspectives of applying these architectures are also discussed.

Colloquium coordinators are Prof.dr. M. Aiello (e-mail : M.Aiello rug.nl ) and Prof.dr. M. Biehl (e-mail: M.Biehl rug.nl )
