Eight Groningen programmes ‘Top’ in Dutch university education
Eight University of Groningen degree programmes have been awarded the ‘Top Degree Programme’ quality label in this year’s Keuzegids Universiteiten (Guide to Dutch Universities). Ten Groningen degree programmes were assessed as the best in their category. In the list of Best Universities, the University of Groningen is in third place in the category ‘General Classical University’. Groningen and Nijmegen have the lowest number of dropouts in the first year of the six universities in this category.
The assessments in the Guide are based on student evaluations, success rates and visitation reports.

Based on these criteria, the Groningen degree programmes that are ‘top’ in Dutch academic education are Theology (88 points), Religious Studies (88 points), Archaeology (82 points), Mathematics (80) points), Philosophy of a specific discipline (78 points), Applied Physics (78), Chemical Engineering (78 points) and Astronomy (76 points).
