Title: Rational solutions of Painleve' VI and Baecklund transformations.

Abstract:

The Painleve' VI equation can be obtained as a reduction of the
3-component KP hierarchy. In this way one obtains rational solutions of
this equation. The geometry behind this KP hierarchy is a certain
infinite Grassmannian. The Hirota bilinear equations that describe the
relation between certain points in this Grassmannian produce the
corresponding B¨acklund transformations.
