2011 Nobel Laureate lectures live on U4 Star Lectures

The strategic alliance U4 of the universities of Groningen, Uppsala, Göttingen and Ghent collaborates on various activities. One of these activities focuses on broadcasting lectures by top academics via the internet, starting this Tuesday with the first episode of the U4 Star Lectures. 2011 Nobel Laureates will be received in the Aula of the University of Uppsala and present a brief lecture about their research and work.

11 a.m.: Bruce A. Beutler (activation of innate immunity)

11.20 a.m.: Christopher A. Sims (empirical research on cause and effect in the macroeconomy)

3 p.m.: Leymah Gbowee and Tawakkol Karman (for their non-violent struggle for the safety of women and for women’s rights to full participation in peace-building work)
