Title:Controlled contact systems: modelling origins and structure preserving
state feedback
Abstract:
In this talk we shall introduce a class of control systems defined on
contact manifolds, and characterize their structure-preserving feedback transformations. In the first part we shall give some motivations for the definition of
these systems, based on the contact form induced by Gibbs' relation and the
definition of contact vector fields associated with irreversible thermodynamic
phenomena. In the second part we shall characterize a class of state feedback
transformations for which the closed-loop system is again a contact system.
