Title:Vizualizing Surfaces by the Groningen Geometer P.H. Schoute
Abstract:
The talk discusses three string models on display on the third floor
of our department. They were made by Pieter Hendrik Schoute in 1893.
We will explain why he did this, what the models show, and what was the impact of this
work.
