Title:Stochastic models for car parking, particle deposition and frequency assignment
Abstract:
In this talk, multilayer particle deposition models are considered, and several
results are presented. In these models, "particles" move from randomly distributed x-locations
ballistically downwards to a "substrate" where they stick either to another particle that was
put there before, or to the substrate itself.
During this deposition process, the particles are piled up, layer by layer. Depending
on the properties of the substrate and the rules of deposition, the densities of these
layers increase in some specific way. It appears that some models create layers that have
increasing end-densities, with a relatively low end-density at the first layer, while others
create decreasing end-densities.
Calculation methods to compute these densities and some other interesting properties
of these kinds of models are presented.
