Students and alumni of FEB teacher training in economics win innovation prizes
Students and alumni of the teacher training programme at the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) occupy the entire podium at the award ceremony of the Professor Henk Peer prize. This national prize is awarded annually to designers of innovative teaching material for economics in secondary education. Eight prizes were awarded among 25 entries from all parts of the country. The FEB students and alumni occupied the places 1, 2, 3, 5 and 8.
The first prize was awarded to Anthea van Os and Louwrens Wouda, who together designed ‘the balance day’: a brain-friendly assignment in which a class learns how to draw up a balance sheet. First, a balance sheet of a chips factory is explained in class (including a flavour test), then students start working on the subsequent assignments.
The jury praised the large extent of interaction between teacher and students, the commitment of students and the clear structure of the assignment.
Among the winners were also the students and former students Nanda Stijntjes, Gert Droogendijk and Ruben Boeijinga from FEB.
