Living expenses drop by 204 euros due to lower energy costs
The living expenses for owner-occupiers will this year lower by 204 euros on average (4,9 percent), due to lower energy expenses. The conveyance tax and the added tax for home-owners have risen. These are the results of the Living Expenses Monitor 2010, drawn up by the Centre for Research on Local Government Economics (COELO) at the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Groningen.
The average home-owner will this year spend 3,983 euros on his living expenses, in addition to his mortgage payments. That is 12 percent of the average income after tax. It is therefore not surprising that the rise in living expenses draws so much attention. The COELO Living Expenses Monitor 2010 provides an overview.
