Thesis: Characterization of key proteins involved in the SCB signalling system for secondary metabolism in Streptomyces coelicolor

Promotor(s): prof. L. Dijkhuizen

Faculty: Mathematics and Natural Sciences

Nai-Hua Hsiao investigated the enzymatic role of ScbA in the biosynthetic pathway of γ -butyrolactones in Streptomyce coelicolor which is strongly suggested by active site mutagenesis. In addition to the enzymatic function, ScbA may also possess a role in the regulation of antibiotic production and morphological differentiation. It seems that ScbA has dual function in S. coelicolor concludes Hsiao.
