University of Groningen and Universitas Indonesia agree to establish joint Master in Economics
To further strengthen and extend cooperative relations between the University of Groningen (RUG) and Universitas Indonesia (UI), a delegation of guests from Indonesia visited the Faculty of Economics and Business on Friday 6 November. The delegation comprised four representatives from the Indonesian National Development Planning Agency (BAPPENAS), Mr. Avip Syaefullah, Head of Center for Planners' Development, Education and Training, Ms. Hayu Parasati, Director of Urban and Regional Affairs, Ms. Meily Djohar, Head of Information and Planners' Services Division, and Ms. Zamilah Chairani, Head of Education and Training Division, and Prof. Dr. Nachrowi, Director of the Graduate Program of Economics, Faculty of Economics (PPIE,UI).
A cooperative agreement between FEB (RUG) and PPIE (UI) has been signed by our Dean, Prof. Elmer Sterken, and witnessed by Prof. Nachrowi and Mr. Avip Syaefullah. The agreement concerns an arrangement whereby Indonesian students who have participated in a Graduate Diploma at UI are given the opportunity to enter the MSc Economics or MSc IE&B at FEB. This joint FEB-PPIE Master programme in (Development) Economics, which has been established within the framework of enhancing the capacity building of government officers in Indonesia, will be coordinated by Dr. Bart Los (for FEB, RUG) and Prof. Nachrowi (for PPIE, UI).
