Dietzenbacher receives KNAW grant for cooperation with Chinese Academy
The cooperation between our faculties and the Graduate University and Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) in Beijing, PR China will be further strengthened.
The Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) and the Chinese Academy of Sciences have granted a subsidy to the project Studies in the Structure of the Chinese Economy by Erik Dietzenbacher (Faculty of Economics in Groningen) and Prof. Chen Xikang and Prof. Tong Rencheng (CAS in Beijing).
This June, Dietzenbacher will visit Beijing to teach a course on Input Output Economics and Dr. Yang Cuihong (CAS) will come to Groningen for a period of 5 months to work together with researchers from the European Network for Input-Output Studies (EUNIOS) at the University of Groningen (RUG).
The researchers also aim at organising the 2nd Sino-Netherlands workshop on Input Output Techniques to be held in Beijing in October 2008.
Furthermore, PhD student Pei Jiansuo (from CAS) will join the team per September 1. He will receive a so-called Bernoulli scholarship provided by the RUG.
