Verhoef Faculty Fellow at Center for Services Leadership, Arizona State University
Professor of Marketing Peter Verhoef is appointed Faculty Fellow at the Center for Services Leadership (CSL) of the Arizona State University. The CSL was founded in 1985 to pioneer the study of services when business schools were focusing primarily on products and manufacturing enterprises.
The core message of the CSL is that services have to be managed, marketed and offered differently than products: a product will roll off an assembly line and it will look the same every time. But with services, such as loans, there’s a lot of variability, because there’s a human element. At the moment the CSL has established itself as a globally recognized authority for companies on how to compete strategically through the profitable use of services.
Faculty Fellows
The CSL has developed a renowned, by-invitation-only international group of Faculty Fellows. The Fellows are respected academicians who have collaborated with the CSL on research projects, executive education and/or publications related to advancing the field of services. Verhoef for example contributed through collaborative research on upgrading decisions in business-to-business relationships and understanding cross-buying in financial service industries.
Verhoef's colleague Ruth Bolton, Honorary Professor of Research on Customer Behavior at the Faculty, is also professor of Marketing at the Arizona State University.
