General Electrics Plastics in close cooperation with Technology Management programme
General Electrics Plastics has agreed to invest in a long term relation with the Technology Management educational programmes of the Faculty of Management and Organization. General Electrics Plastics will contribute to the programme through workshops, real-life data, and plant visits.
In the MSc programme, students will analyse an actual problem of the company and present their results in a meeting of the general board of GEP Europe. The cooperation with GEP strengthens the ability to investigate TM problems that are related to the process technology area, which is one of the technological specializations of the TM programme. It perfectly fits with our ambition to increase the involvement of external parties in the continuous improvement of the quality of the educational programmes.
'Students in TM are important to our firm'
According to G. Boekhoudt, field marketing director of GEP Europe, a business unit with more than 6000 employees: “Students in Technology Management at the University of Groningen are important to our firm. The combination of technological specialization, sound research and interpersonal skills, and knowledge of technological innovation make them very attractive for one of GE’s leadership programmes. General Electrics is one of the largest companies in the world, but we can still learn a lot from students Technology Management, as they will bring in new ideas, theories, and approaches that have been proven successful in other types of technologically driven industries.”
