PhD research: ‘Individuals and Organizations’
Multi-Agent Simulation is a method for studying and understanding human behaviour in organizations. Martin Helmhout’s research has focussed on the design and implementation of such a simulation model. His study mainly concerns the relationship between the behaviour of individuals (micro-level) who form an organization and the behaviour of the organization as a whole (macro-level).

Curriculum Vitae
Martin Helmhout studied Industrial Engineering and Management at the University of Groningen. His research was conducted at the Department of Knowledge Management. Helmhout will receive his PhD in Management and Organization on 30 November 2006, at 1.15 p.m. His thesis supervisors were Prof. H.W.M. Gazendam and Prof. R.J. Jorna. The title of the thesis is The social cognitive actor: a multi-actor simulation of organisations.
