Groningen Business Studies programmes receive positive assessment
In spring 2006, QANU, an independent organization that assesses academic teaching and research, examined all the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes of the Faculty of Management and Organization.
The committee that conducted the assessment for QANU is very pleased with the quality of the degree programmes. This applies equally to the content of the programmes, the facilities for students and the internal quality monitoring. This positive result has justified the numerous efforts towards improvement undertaken by the Faculty in the past few years.
In March, the visitation committee held meetings with a delegation from the faculty, comprising representatives of the curriculum committees, the programme directors, lecturers, students, the Faculty Board and the quality assurance department. In addition, the committee also assessed the faculty’s self-study reports. The final judgement is positive for all degree programmes: the Bachelor’s degrees in Business Studies, Technology Management and the International Business & Management specialization, and the Master’s degrees in Business Administration, Human Resource Management, International Business & Management and Technology Management.
Interaction with research
The visitation committee was particularly impressed with the way that the learning outcomes of the programmes dovetail with international developments within the field, with the interaction between teaching and academic research, with the internal quality assurance and with components such as the Bachelor’s thesis.
Positive assessment of facilities
The large-scale renovation of the teaching facilities currently underway was also evaluated positively by the visitation committee. The committee was also positive about the supervision and information provision facilities.
