Building sections 5114 and 5115
Over the past year, building sections 5114 and 5115 have been adapted for education and the departments that will move there. In conjunction with this, asbestos was removed and parts of the electrical installation and ventilation were renewed so that they remain safe and reliable to use.

After these relocations, building sections 5113 and 5116 will be put out of use from 14 July 2025:

  • Building section 5113 will be repurposed, see news

  • Building section 5116 will also be decommissioned this summer. The future of this building section is part of the same architectural assignment as for 5113.

Building sections 5113 to 5116
Building sections 5113 to 5116 are severely outdated and consume a lot of energy. Building sections 5111 and 5112 are newer and more energy-efficient. A conscious decision was therefore made to reduce the use of 5113 to 5116 to the minimum we need within these building sections. So after the summer, only parts 5111, 5112, 5114 and 5115 will still be used as Nijenborgh 4.

Also, the heating for these building sections will be connected to WarmteStad before next winter and the old boilers of Nijenborgh 4 will be decommissioned. Further details for the relocation are coordinated with the respective departments separately.

Second phase Feringa Building
As soon as the second phase of Feringa Building (5611) can be commissioned, the aim is to then reduce the use of building sections 5114 and 5115 as far as possible. The end of the use of building sections 5111 and 5112 is not yet in sight. This will mainly depend on the further development of the Master Plan for Nijenborgh 4 in consultation with the architect and the further accommodation strategy of FSE.
