'Dag van de Bouw' at Feringa Building attracts 400 visitors

20 June 2022

On Saturday 18 June 2022, the Feringa Building was open to the public for the first time during the national construction day 'Dag van de Bouw'. Around 400 prospective 'residents' (staff and students) and other interested visitors came to take a look at the immense new building for the Faculty of Science and Engineering throughout the day.

During the Dag van de Bouw, contractors Ballast Nedam and De Groot-Lammerink were able to show what has been achieved in the new Feringa Building. Spread out over the walking route through the building, they spoke enthusiastically about the construction project. They were able to take a look at the large lecture hall (420 people), the atrium with an inventive air cushion roof above it, the geothermal energy storage room (ATES / 'WKO'), a laboratory, clean rooms and the office areas. Visitors were also able to ask questions to staff members of the faculty's moving team about the future layout of the building.
